PIZZA PARTY
BY: ANJELA
We are having a pizza party every week but only if we earn points. This Tuesday on November 26, 2013 we had a pizza party because we earned 10 points. If we want another pizza party we have to earn 11 points, every time we earn points we get a pizza party if we earn 11 points and get a pizza party next time we have to earn 12 points, every time we earn points and get a pizza party we have to start from 0 and earn points. We don't get to earn them teachers have to say to the whole class about us and say that this is a wonderful class or this class is amazing you know some kind of good comments to the class. If they just say it to 1 student it doesn't count, it only counts if a teacher says something about us so work people be a good class please.

WINDMILL ART
BY: ANJELA
We are reading a book called "THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND". We made some art it's kind of like a windmill because in the book it said that William made a windmill. So we are drawing something like a 3d windmill. This is how you make it, first you draw a dot in the middle of the page, then make lines from the dot to the corner to make triangles you can at least make 13 or 8 triangles on your page, after that in 1 of the triangle choose happy or frowny and then when you choose it draw the next one opposite and keep on going. After that get 4 colours, 1 warm 1 cool then get a colour then get a colour that is dark that matches your 1st 2 colours. Colour it like a candy cane. Then get your dark colour and make shades beside the light colours.

Remembrance Day! By Dagmawit
Hello 212! Yesterday in Remembrance Day it was a very sad
and miserable day.
The reason why people celebrate Remembrance Day is because
of the soldiers that fight in World War I honored and remember them being brave
and also saving our country Canada!!
People wear poppies because that flower shows that we honor
the day Canadians had been in the World War I.
That is how there was a Canadian national anthem, it was
based on the Canadian war in 1937 – 1945 most of the people in that war were
injured or got killed.
So ever since then Remembrance Day became a very important
holiday for Canada.
That is why we celebrate Remembrance Day!

Library Visit - October 25, 2013
Our first visit to the library was a successful one. The staff at Albert Campbell welcomed us with a brief tour of the facilities. They reviewed how to search for a book on the internet and how to use the Dewey Decimal system. Our next visit will be on November 22, 2013. The books they took out this time can be kept until the 22nd and they will not be charged a late fee. If a child has taken out any videos they need to be returned by Friday of next week (November 1). You can return them to the Albert Campbell Library or to the bookmobile which will be at the Oakridge Community Centre parking lot on October 31st.

Writing Our "Journey" Stories by Sierra
In class were writing stories that have to do with where we came from or where your parents came from. What I mean by that is what country you lived in before you moved to Canada or where your parents moved from. For example we learned that a lot of people in are class were from the same country. The reason were writing stories about were we came from is so we learn more about you. So for example some of the things that we can learn about is what are some of the simalairties of Canada and where you moved from before.

Math by Shamail
In math, we are learning about multiplication. We are learning some different strategies to use when we multiply. We are also learning about different ways to multiply. Some of the ways that we are using are lattice multiplication, friendly number multiplication, and split up multiplication. Every day, we learn another strategy to use when we multiply. Some of the ways we use are hard, and some of them are easy. Sometimes, we have math problems in which we have to place digits in such a way to make the biggest product. The numbers that you are multiplying are called "factors". The answer is called the "product". We also have to do mental math to figure out the answer to a math problem. Sometimes, we play a game called "around the world". It is a multiplication game where you start from one person, and keep on going. You have to try to get the answer quick. Whoever gets the answer first, stays in the game. Thats all we are doing in math.
Writing by Mantaka
In writing we are writing a story about a journey. Most people are writing about coming from another country on a plane. We can write about ourselves, a family member, or a relative who traveled from another country. after we've all got a story written down, we are going to partner up. Then we are going to video tape each other with i pads, saying our story. But that's not all! We also get to illustrate 3 or 4 pictures to go along with the story. we design the pictures on i pads. So, you can say that this project includes writing, art, and of course fun!!!

Science by Mantaka
In science we are learning about the human body. We're learning about 1 part at a time. So far we've been learning about the nervous system and cells. On Friday, September 13, we will be having a test on these 2 parts. We are suppose to know the following words for the test : organ, tissue, cell, system, brain, spinal cord, nerves, voluntary, and involuntary. We should be taking our folders home to practice so we know what we are doing in class.
COMICS by Samin
From the 2nd week of school, we've been making comics. You may think making comics is drawing, but it is a type of writing, too! Everyone has been making good comics since last week, and had fun making them. I want to show what our classmates have been making.
